The Power Development Department of Govt. UT of Ladakh is responsible for making policy decisions involving optimum utilization of electric power sector resources of the region, thereby, improving the life of the people of the Union Territory. It manages Electricity Generation, Transmission and Distribution through LPDD & JKPDCL and has following objectives

• • Supply of un-interrupted and quality power of consumers
• • Electrification of un-electrical/de-electrified/partially electrified villages/hamlets.
• • Reduction of T&D/AT&C losses.
• • Preparation of Strategic plan to reduce power deficit
