Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS)

• • GoI has launched IPDS for the urban areas with following components: -
• o Strengthening of sub-transmission and distribution networks in the urban areas.
• o Metering of distribution transformers / feeders /consumers in the urban areas.
• o IT enablement of distribution sector and strengthening of distribution network.
• • Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has been engaged as the Nodal Agency for the scheme.
• • This schemecovers 1 Circle of Leh (consisting of 2 towns of Leh & Kargil).
• • Total sanctioned cost of the Scheme amounting to Rs 20.02Crs conveyed by Nodal Agency PFC vide No. 02:10:IPDS:Vol-I:J&KPDD/037253, dated 21-03-2016.
• • M/s WAPCOS has been appointed as PMA for Ladakh (at a contract price of Rs 2.71 Crs).
• • Part-B
• o System Revamping Works which include regular distribution strengthening projects
• o REC PDCL has been engaged as PIA, vide Govt Order No 52-PDD of 2018 dated 08.02.2018, for Leh Circle.
• o Time of completion was 30 months from the date of sanction. The scheme was completed and closed in Leh circle in March 2022.
